iPhone Duo price

Apple sells the Duo in four storage sizes. These are the prices on Apple’s US and UAE stores.

StorageUS price (USD)UAE price (AED)
256GB$1,999AED 8,499
512GB$2,199AED 9,349
1TB$2,599AED 11,049
2TB$3,199AED 13,599

Checkout fees and import costs can increase your final total.

  • The Duo costs $700 more than the iPhone 18 Pro Max, which starts at $1,299.
  • In the US, Apple offers the Duo for $83.29/month for 24 months. Read the payment terms before you plan your budget.
  • The Duo Case costs $79, and the Duo Folio with Kickstand costs $129. You can order both from October 16.
  • Saw a $3,499 price online? That is the Australian price, A$3,499, for the 256GB model.

Where you can pre-order the iPhone Duo

Apple opens orders in more than 70 countries and regions. It names 18 of them: Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, France, Germany, India, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Singapore, South Korea, Türkiye, the UAE, the UK, the US and Vietnam. Other countries in the group may not appear on this short list.

Plan to buy from a store in another country? Check these rules first:

  • Apple’s US store needs a US billing and shipping address.
  • Apple’s UAE store delivers only inside the UAE. A Dubai price does not mean Apple ships to your country.

Start with Apple’s store for your country or a local reseller that lists the Duo. Before you pay, ask the seller to confirm four things:

  • The storage size you ordered
  • The delivery date
  • The return policy
  • That the phone is unlocked

Can you buy the iPhone Duo in Africa?

Here is where things stand in four African markets as of October 14.

  • South Africa: iStore South Africa takes pre-orders from October 16. You see the rand price and delivery date at checkout.
  • Nigeria: iStore Nigeria shows the Duo and asks you to check back for availability. It lists no naira price or pre-order date yet.
  • Kenya: iTey Store, a local retailer, takes reservations for the 256GB model at KSh 419,999. It expects first stock in early to mid-November. Ask for the final price with tax and a written delivery date before you pay.
  • Ghana: Ghana has no confirmed launch date or cedi price yet. Ask your local Apple reseller about its stock plans.

Buying an imported Duo

Ask your seller for one full quote. It should cover:

  • The phone price and the seller’s margin
  • Currency conversion fees
  • Shipping
  • Customs charges

A quick dollar-to-naira sum shows you only part of the cost.

Travelling back to Kenya with a Duo? KRA allows a US$500 concession on qualifying personal or household goods. A new Duo costs about four times that, so check the customs rules before you fly.

Think about repairs too. Apple can limit iPhone warranty service to the country where it first sold the phone. Keep your receipt, and ask your seller who handles repairs if something breaks.

The iPhone Duo is eSIM-only; here is what that means for you

The Duo works only with eSIM in every country. It has no physical SIM card slot. A Duo you buy in Dubai also needs an eSIM.

An eSIM is a digital SIM that your network loads onto your phone. Before you order, ask your network two questions:

  • Can it activate your number on the Duo?
  • How does it move your number from your old phone?

Here is what Nigerian networks say about eSIM:

  • MTN checks that your phone qualifies and gives you a QR code to scan. You also complete SIM registration.
  • Airtel asks you to visit a service centre, then activate the eSIM over Wi-Fi using a QR code.
  • Glo advertises eSIM on its website.
  • T2 (formerly 9mobile) launched eSIM in 2020. Ask the network if it still supports it today.

Ask your network to confirm it supports the Duo and tell you what ID you need.

If you import a phone, make sure it is unlocked. Apple’s US store says phones bought on some carrier payment plans stay locked until you pay them off. Ask the seller to confirm your phone works on your network.

How to get ready before the iPhone Duo pre-order opens

  • Pick your storage and colour. Apple’s US store lets you set this up before October 16. Check if your local store offers the same.
  • Check your payment. Confirm your card limit and billing details. If you plan to pay in instalments, make sure you qualify.
  • Get your trade-in value. Read the terms before you count on that credit.
  • Be on the order page at 1 pm Lagos time on Friday. If you buy from a reseller, follow its own schedule.

Check the delivery date and final total before you tap buy.

Could delivery dates slip?

On September 29, MacRumors reported, citing China’s Jiemian News, that final assembly yields sat just above 60% as of September 17. In simple terms, about 6 in 10 phones passed final checks on the assembly line. A supply-chain source provided the figure, and Apple hasn’t confirmed it.

This could mean fewer phones at launch. If you want your Duo early, watch the delivery date as soon as orders open.

Comparing the OnePlus 16 vs RedMagic 12 Pro+ comes down to one question: what do you want besides gaming?

Both phones run Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip. OnePlus started sales in China on October 13. RedMagic will launch its phone in China on October 15 at 2:30 pm China time (7:30 am in Lagos).

This guide compares both phones on price, gaming, battery, and cameras. It also shows you which one you can get in Africa.

Quick answer: Pick the OnePlus 16 if you want one phone for gaming and photos. Wait for the RedMagic 12 Pro+ launch if fan cooling for long gaming sessions matters most to you.

Price and availability

OnePlus 16 price in China

OnePlus sells the phone in four memory sizes. These are its prices in China.

Dollar figures use the People’s Bank of China rate of CNY 6.7249 to $1 on October 14, 2026.

  • The base model costs CNY 5,699 ($847) in the first sale. Its normal price is CNY 5,999 ($892).
  • Buyers in China can drop the base model to CNY 5,199 ($773) with a government subsidy. This subsidy works only inside China.

A dollar or naira conversion shows you only the China price. Your final cost also includes four extras:

  • Currency conversion fees
  • Shipping
  • Import charges
  • The seller’s margin

Ask the seller for the full delivered price in writing before you pay.

Where OnePlus sells the OnePlus 16

OnePlus sells the OnePlus 16 in China. Android Authority reports it will skip Europe and North America, and TechRepublic notes that OnePlus confirmed in July it would stop launching new phones in those regions.

For India, tipster Yogesh Brar says, via TechRepublic, that the OnePlus 16R may become OnePlus’s top phone there instead. OnePlus has not confirmed this.

OnePlus has not announced a launch for Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, or South Africa. A local seller with stock is importing the phone, so confirm the exact model you get.

RedMagic 12 Pro+ price

RedMagic shares the price at its October 15 launch. In China, you can reserve the phone now with a CNY 100 ($15) deposit on RedMagic’s website or JD.com.

The global version may differ from the China model. For example, the global RedMagic 11 Pro came with a 7,500mAh battery and 80W wired charging. The China model had an 8,000mAh battery and 120W wired charging. Check the specs of the exact version you buy.

Compare both phones again when RedMagic posts prices for matching memory sizes.

OnePlus 16 vs RedMagic: Can you buy either phone in Africa?

RedMagic’s global store ships to a fixed list of countries. Egypt is on the list. Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, and South Africa are missing, and RedMagic’s policy says a missing country gets no direct delivery.

CountryDirect RedMagic delivery? What you can do
NigeriaNoAsk a trusted reseller or forwarding service for a full quote
KenyaNoConfirm stock and the full delivery cost
GhanaNoCheck the seller’s return and repair terms
South AfricaNoConfirm the model, delivery route and who provides the warranty

If you buy either phone from a reseller, ask these four questions:

  • Which region is the phone from?
  • What software does it run?
  • Does it support your network’s bands?
  • Who handles warranty repairs?

If a seller says the phone has a “global ROM”, ask if the factory installed it or the seller added it later.

RedMagic’s warranty covers phones from its official store. RedMagic says it offers no extra help for phones from other sellers, so the reseller’s own warranty matters a lot.

Performance and gaming

Same chip, different results

Both phones use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. The same chip gives you a fair starting point. Cooling and game tuning still change how each phone plays.

A quick benchmark score tells you little about long matches. When reviews come out, look for these four results after 30 minutes of play:

  • Average frame rate
  • Sudden frame drops
  • Battery used
  • How hot the back gets

OnePlus 16 focuses on touch, screen and network

OnePlus packs a 6,428mm² vapour chamber to move heat away from the chip. It also adds these gaming parts:

  • G3 chip for a steadier network connection
  • P4 chip for the display
  • T3 chip for faster touch response
  • 800Hz gyroscope for motion aiming

Check that your favourite games support high frame rates on the version you buy. Game support in China can differ from global versions of PUBG Mobile and Call of Duty Mobile.

RedMagic 12 Pro+ focuses on cooling

RedMagic pairs a liquid cooling engine with fan-powered air cooling. This setup helps the chip maintain peak performance in long games. Reviews still need to test fan noise and frame-rate stability.

A Geekbench 7 listing, which Gizmochina and Android Headlines link to the 12 Pro+, shows 3,677 single-core and 12,679 multi-core points. RedMagic has not confirmed the listing.

At launch, check for these four gaming features:

  • Shoulder triggers
  • A headphone jack
  • Touch-control settings
  • Bypass charging

Gaming verdict: RedMagic’s fan cooling gives gamers a good reason to wait for its launch. Long-session tests will show which phone holds up better.

Bypass charging sends power straight to the phone while you play plugged in, which keeps the battery cooler. Check when the feature turns on before you count on it.

For both phones, check whether the charger is included in the box, and price any wireless charger separately.

Which phone should you buy?

Pick the OnePlus 16 if:

  • You want one phone for gaming and photos.
  • You have checked the imported model’s software and warranty.

Wait if:

  • Fan cooling for long gaming sessions matters most to you.
  • You want RedMagic’s final price and global specs first.
  • You need tested battery life and camera results.
  • You want a local warranty and easy returns.

Before you pay for either phone, get the full price in writing and confirm the exact model.
