Bachelor star Sam Wood seeks bail after almost a month behind bars over alleged attack on wife Snezana while on holiday in Noosa

Embattled Bachelor star Sam Wood will face the Supreme Court in a bid for bail after being charged with domestic violence offences against his wife, Snezana.

Wood was arrested on October 3 following the alleged incident at the couple's $3,000-a-night holiday accommodation in Noosa, on Queensland's Sunshine Coast.

The 46-year-old is set to appear before the Brisbane Supreme Court on Friday seeking bail after spending almost a month behind bars at Brisbane's Wolston Correctional Centre.

Wood's lawyers will also apply for non-publication orders relating to the case which, if approved, would ban or restrict media outlets from publishing information outside the courtroom.

The matter will be heard before Justice Patrick McCafferty.

If bail is granted, Wood would be allowed to leave jail and likely travel to an interstate address while fighting the charges.

Wood has been charged with the domestic violence offences of assault occasioning bodily harm and strangulation in a domestic setting.

During his first bail hearing at Maroochydore Magistrates Court, lawyers said an argument broke out between the pair while they were on holiday with their three young daughters and his adult stepdaughter, Eve.

It is alleged a row broke out as the couple packed their belongings to return home to Melbourne.

He allegedly grabbed his wife by the throat with one hand and threw her against a wall, the court was told.

He then allegedly held her throat tightly and restricted her breathing while she was on the ground, the court heard.

'It is further then alleged that the applicant has grabbed the alleged victim (Snezana) by the throat with one hand and thrown her against the wall in the hallway, striking her head,' Magistrate Janelle Boegheim told the court.

'Then while keeping a firm hold of the alleged victim he's thrown her onto the ground and whilst on the floor has held her throat, gripping tight and restricting her airway, preventing her from breathing.

'She stated to police that during the ordeal she thought that was it and her life was going to end.'

The court heard Wood's stepdaughter, Eve Markoski-Wood, told him to stop yelling at her mother before he allegedly walked aggressively towards her, prompting Snezana to place herself between the pair.

Ms Markoski-Wood called Triple Zero, informing police that Wood had allegedly harmed her mother.

Wood's lawyer, Mathew Cuskelly, denied there had been any strangulation, saying his client's version of events indicated he may be entitled to argue self-defence.

Wood is now being represented by new legal counsel, including barrister Paul Morreau KC.

Wood sold Australian Life Tech, the parent company of 28 by Sam Wood, to myDNA for a reported $71 million in 2022, though he remained involved with the brand under its new ownership.

Less than a month after parent company DBF Health terminated all commercial arrangements with Wood following his arrest, the business rebranded and unveiled its new name, Evvr, on Instagram.

On Wednesday, a video shared on the company's social media featured a group of well-known fitness trainers introducing the new brand and its 'fresh' look.

'In the coming weeks, you're going to see a new name and a fresh, new look,' said Pilates instructor Alice Bennett.

'We are taking all of the magic that we have built and made here together.

'Your favourite trainers, your favourite workouts that you know and love, and most importantly, this amazing community.

'A new look, a new chapter, but with the same heart. This is evvr.'

Fitness personalities Miguel La Cruz Mayeye, Jossman Holdsworth, Chloe Lorback, Max Pertzel and Zoe Klein also appeared in the clip.
