Hyundai Motors Nigeria has expanded its SUV lineup with the introduction of the Mufasa and Grand Creta, adding two models to its offerings in a market where vehicle pricing, features and maintenance costs influence purchasing decisions.
The launch of the two models expands Hyundai’s vehicle offerings for Nigerian consumers, including families, professionals and business executives.
Representing Hyundai Motors Nigeria, Gaurav Vashisht, general manager, sales and marketing, said the company remained focused on offering vehicles that balance quality, reliability, performance and value.
“The SUV segment continues to attract strong interest in Nigeria, as customers increasingly prioritise comfort, safety, technology and versatility.

“With the introduction of the Hyundai Mufasa and Grand Creta, we are offering two distinctive vehicles designed to meet different lifestyle requirements while maintaining Hyundai’s global standards of quality and innovation,” Vashisht said.
The Hyundai Mufasa
The Hyundai Mufasa features a prominent front grille, LED lighting and a sculpted exterior design. The SUV combines contemporary styling with practical features for everyday driving.
Under the bonnet, the Mufasa features a 2.0-litre SmartstreamMPi petrol engine, paired with a smooth six-speed automatic transmission. Depending on the market specification, the engine delivers approximately 150–160 PS of power and 193 Nm of torque, providing responsive performance for both city driving and highway journeys.
The Mufasa features a front-wheel-drive configuration and a 54-litre fuel tank, offering a practical balance between performance and driving convenience.
Measuring approximately 4,475 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width and up to 1,685 mm in height, with a 2,680 mm wheelbase, the Mufasa provides a spacious five-seater cabin designed around driver and passenger comfort.
Inside, the SUV offers a modern dashboard layout, digital display technology, convenient storage compartments, and comfortable seating arrangements.
Depending on the variant, available equipment includes a touchscreen infotainment system, smartphone connectivity, automatic climate control, wireless charging, and selectable driving modes.
Safety and driver assistance are also important elements of the Mufasa’s design, with available technologies including Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), parking assistance, airbags and other driver-support features, depending on the vehicle specification.
With its combination of modern styling, practical cabin space, and capable engine performance, the Mufasa is positioned as an attractive choice for young professionals, executives and families seeking a versatile SUV.
Hyundai Grand Creta
Complementing the Mufasa is the Hyundai Grand Creta, a spacious seven-seater SUV designed for families and customers seeking additional passenger capacity, comfort, and everyday versatility.
The Hyundai Grand Creta features a three-row cabin with seating for up to seven occupants, alongside an exterior design aimed at the mid-size SUV market.
The model is available with a 2.0-litre Smartstream petrol engine producing approximately 159 PS and 191 Nm of torque. Automatic variants are paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.
With a wheelbase of 2,760 mm, the Grand Creta offers cabin space for passengers across its three rows. Its flexible seating configuration also allows the interior to be adjusted to accommodate passengers or luggage, depending on travel needs.
It has an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity on selected specifications, rear air-conditioning vents, keyless entry, push-button start and a digital instrument cluster on higher variants.
Additional comfort features available on selected trims include leather-appointed seating, ventilated front seats, automatic climate control, wireless charging and a panoramic sunroof.
Safety features offered across Grand Creta variants include six airbags, ABS, Electronic Stability Control, Hill-start Assist Control, rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera and ISOFIX child-seat mounting points.
The Grand Creta’s interior space, flexible seating arrangement and convenience features cater to families seeking a vehicle that accommodates passengers and luggage while retaining the styling and performance associated with SUVs.
Vashisht reaffirmed Hyundai Motors Nigeria’s commitment to delivering vehicles that meet the expectations of customers across different segments of the market.
“At Hyundai Motors Nigeria, our objective is not simply to introduce new vehicles but to deliver a complete ownership experience. The Hyundai Mufasa appeals to customers who appreciate bold design, modern technology and dynamic performance, while the Grand Creta provides the space, comfort and versatility required by larger families.
“Both models reflect our commitment to offering customers more choices, supported by our authorised dealership network, professional after-sales services and genuine spare parts. We remain focused on building long-term customer confidence in the Hyundai brand,” he added.
The Mufasa and Grand Creta join Hyundai’s existing SUV lineup in Nigeria, which includes the Creta, Tucson, Santa Fe and Palisade.
As Nigerian motorists weigh factors such as performance, comfort, fuel efficiency, safety and maintenance costs when choosing vehicles, the expanded lineup gives Hyundai additional models to compete in the local automotive market.
The launch broadens the range of Hyundai SUVs available to Nigerian buyers, adding two models to its existing offerings.
