Fox News host Bret Baier scolds Trump live on air after president claimed network's polls were 'terrible', as humbled commander-in-chief says he's opened to working with Dems

Fox News anchor Bret Baier corrected Donald Trump live on air after the president condemned the network's mid-term polling that predicted his crushing losses.

The journalist and president clashed shortly after midnight ET, after Trump was asked about 'candidate quality' over his backing of Texas senate candidate Ken Paxton and South Carolina nominee Darline Graham, both of whom lost their respective races.

Trump answered that he 'had no choice' but to support Paxton, then pivoted to say: 'The Fox polls are terrible. You ought to get yourself a good pollster, because your pollster is the worst.'

Baier quickly stepped in to challenge the president, saying: 'But tonight actually the results are pretty close to what the Fox polls showed.'

Fox's final midterms polls, published November 1, forecast Democrats taking control of the House of Representatives, which came to pass.

It predicted a toss-up for the Senate, which Democrats ultimately won.

Fox News host Bret Baier quickly corrected President Trump live on air early Wednesday after Trump blasted the network's polling

Trump slated Fox News forecasting that correctly predicted Democrats would take control of the House of Representatives

Fox News also predicted races were too close to call in traditional Republican strongholds like Kansas and Texas, where Democrats also won historic victories.

Despite Baier correcting him, Trump continued to vent his ire at Fox's polling.

'Well I don't know about that,' he said in response to Baier's clapback.

'I can just tell you about speaking for myself and the results with Fox with me were wrong for 12 years. They've got me wrong for 12 years.

'I shouldn't say this,' Trump said, 'But Abraham Lincoln was at eight percent, Ronald Reagan was at 13 percent and Trump was at, like, 54 percent and then I read at Fox that I'm not popular.

'You know, I mean, the Fox polls are terrible. You ought to get yourself a new pollster because your polls are the worst.

President Trump said he's open to working with the Democrats after their historic midterms wins

Trump told Baier he continued to back US Senate candidate for Texas Ken Paxton (pictured giving his concession speech late Tuesday) who lost to Democrat James Talarico in an historic defeat

Baier also asked Trump if there was an issue with 'candidate quality' in regards to South Carolina Senate candidate Darlene Graham, who also lost to a Democrat

'But I don't care, it doesn't matter.'

Trump previously told Fox News he'd accept the results of Tuesday's midterm elections, which saw Democrats take control of Congress and make deep inroads in multiple deep-red states.

The humbled president also told The New York Times that he was open to working with the Democrats, saying: 'We’ll, you know, look forward to working with them.

'We’ll probably work something out.'

The president earlier said that he blamed his unpopular invasion of Iran in February for the Republican party's drubbing at the ballot box.

He insisted that he did not regret the bombing, which saw Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei killed in an air strike.

Iran responded by closing the Strait of Hormuz, a body of water through which approximately 25 percent of the world's seaborne oil passes.

That saw sharp rises in gas prices and the general cost of living.

Trump swept to a huge victory in 2024 by vowing to tackle price spikes under the Biden administration, while also promising 'no new wars.'

Lively gave a glimpse into her cozy wind-down routine shortly after the drama involving her film It Ends With Us and her director and costar Justin Baldoni.

'Natural beauty is effortless,' she quipped at the bottom of her post, which pictured her taking a deep breath while the mask covered her face.

Lively also drew thought bubbles around her face, and in one, she wrote: 'If I don't look like I'm in the first trimester of life after this much effort I quit.'

She continued: 'I miss the 2000s when we just used that handsoap with fish characters on it on our face & called it a day.'

The Gossip Girl star also noted the lights in the background of her room in another thought bubble: 'My kids' star projector that I stole is a vibe tho.'

She set her candid post to the tune of Fergie and Ludacris' 2006 smash hit Glamorous.

'The look: no time but need to look cute while ALSO raising children,' the movie star, who was seen using products from her Blake Brown haircare brand, wrote over the clip.

'Moment of truth: bun out after running around the city,' she continued, before almost running out the door with her pants unbuttoned.

Her post comes after she was in a legal battle with Baldoni, and the former costars settled right before their trial was set to begin.

Baldoni was ultimately ordered to pay $400,000 of Lively's legal fees.

Lively previously sued Baldoni and his production company Wayfarer in December 2024.

Right before their trial was set to begin earlier this year, Lively was awarded just over $400,000 of the $8 million she sought in legal fees from their dispute due to his countersuit.

In her lawsuit, Lively asserted that she was subjected to sexual harassment as well as retaliation, alleging he orchestrated a smear campaign to harm her reputation after she brought up complaints about his behavior on set.

In response, Baldoni denied harassment and claimed Lively made complaints to seize creative control of the movie.

In June 2025, the countersuit was thrown out. In May of this year, just two weeks before the scheduled trial date, the former costars reached their settlement.

They also released a joint statement, writing that they 'remain firmly committed to workplaces free of improprieties and unproductive environments.'
