Nigeria’s Super Eagles face another injury concern after Semi Ajayi was forced off with a knock in Hull City’s 1-0 defeat at Arsenal in Saturday’s Premier League,completesports.com reports.

Impressive In Hull City’s Backline Against Arsenal

Ajayi, who was in Hull’s starting lineup and was one of the reason Arsenal could not break down Hull’s backline, went down holding his left leg and had to go off in the 69th minute.

Then just three minutes later (72nd minute) Arsenal found the break through thanks to captain Martin Odegaard, who pounced on the rebound after Noni Madueke’s initial shot was saved.

The win means Arsenal (on 27 points) temporarily go six points clear of second placed Manchester City.

For Hull, they are now winless in their last nine matches in all competitions, recording four defeats and five draws and are in 13th place on 11 points in the league table.

Double Injury Blow For Super Eagles?

Ajayi’s knock would be a worry for the Super Eagles coaching crew ahead of the 2027 African Cup of Nations qualifying double-header with Tanzania.

The Super Eagles will host Tanzania on Friday November 13 in Uyo before going away for the second leg on November 17.

Ajayi featured in the Super Eagles’ matchday one and two qualifiers against Madagascar (2-1 win) and Guinea-Bissau (3-0 defeat).
