The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) Anambra State Chapter has planned to mobilise over one million votes in the State for Peter Obi, its Presidential candidate.
The party has also concluded arrangements for the convening of an unprecedented town hall meeting/rally known as “Mother Of All Rallies” in the State
Ikem Uzoezie, NDC Chairman in Anambra State, made the disclosure on Wednesday in Awka during the inauguration of a 59-man NDC National Campaign Council, Anambra State, for Peter Obi/Rabiu Kwankwaso Presidential Campaign 2027.

He said Obi is enjoying the grace of Nigerians, adding that with the reports on the ground, it is the duty of members of the party in the state to leverage on it.
“Our candidate is known nationwide. He is on the ground and enjoys the grace of Nigerians. In the last election, he got over 500,000 votes when he contested under the Labour Party (LP), but this time around in 2027, he is going to score over one million votes in Anambra State.
“As a matter of fact, Obi has won the 2027 presidential election. It is already done and dusted. There is no doubt about it and what we are doing is icing on the cake,” he said.
Afam Ogene, representing Ogbaru Federal Constituency and caucus leader in the House of Representatives, noted that Obi represents the political tripod of Nigerian politics, adding that “this is an opportunity for Ndigbo to clinch the elusive presidency of South East extraction.
“You see, politics is localised, and we shall mobilise the grassroots, and also bear in mind that the presidency of this country is between the North and the South, and should we miss this opportunity, no Igbo man would be taken seriously anymore when he declares to contest for president.
“It would indeed be sad and painful that at your age of 70 years and above, your children would be asking you what happened that you could not, as an Igbo person, produce the president of this country,” he said.

Ifeanyi Ibezi, State Campaign Council Coordinator, in his acceptance speech emphasised that the party is taking over Anambra, adding that the State is a democratic state and not a progressive State
“As I said before, we are not worried about the empty threats of the Governor of Anambra State. There is nothing like progressives working together in the state because our state is a progressive state. We shall make Anambra a blue state, just as the dominant colour in our party is blue.
“Peter Obi has won the Presidential election in Nigeria with 70%, and this is across Nigeria, and we are taking the battle from the state to the local government, the blocks and the units, and I can guarantee you that victory is assured,” he said.
