The presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, has said his Reset Nigeria Agenda will fix the damage being done by the APC-led administration if elected in the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
According to him, “the Reset Nigeria Agenda will fix our economy, educational system, security architecture, expand our economy, tax prosperity and socio-political environment.”
The Oyo Governor, who spoke at the APM Presidential Campaign Organisation’s South-West town hall meeting, held in Akure, Ondo State capital, said, “We want to reset Nigeria. Southwest Zone of Nigeria, we are very much ready to reset Nigeria. I am a reset agent.

“All of you, get into the scheme. Be a reset agent, get your PVC, and we will reset Nigeria. We want a Nigeria that works for everybody. It is not Nigeria that works for very few. We said no to a turn-by-turn Nigeria, where they say, it is my turn to run a nepotistic administration. And I’m saying this in front of the Southwest people, who are known for fairness.
“It is an issue that we must solve collectively as Nigerians. So we don’t want turn-by-turn nepotism. We also don’t want turn-by-turn: I will put a project in my zone because it is my turn.
“You won’t finish it, and when it’s someone else’s turn, they will do the same thing. They won’t finish it, and we end up with a Nigeria where we cannot extract value from the resources of Nigeria. So, the Reset Nigeria agenda is to have a Nigeria where our infrastructural development will boost our economy.
“No zone will be left behind. No demographic group will be left behind. So we have four major pillars.

“We want to reset our educational system because natural resources alone will not give us economic prosperity. We need skills and knowledge. We will reset our security architecture.”
Makinde, who also spoke about security, said, “Together, we will work on the security architecture of Nigeria such that our economy will not shut down at 8 pm. Expand our economy. I mentioned the other day that the federal government has been spending NLNG dividends alone.
“So the reset agenda is for us to tax prosperity, not poverty. The last pillar of the reset agenda, our socio-political environment. Our forefathers worked really hard to give us federalism, to give us multi-party democracy.”
The National Leader of the party and Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, while speaking, said, “We are set to reset. We are going to go about this job with all the seriousness that it deserves. We are not here for a joke.

“We are focused, we are determined, we are resolute and we must have to accomplish the mission.
“What remains is for us to really continue to do more work so that the resetting of this country, which we believe is the only way out, will begin in earnest. And therefore, after May 29, we hit the ground running. Not by imposing hardship, and not by making people scared, and not by making people confused, but by trying to reduce their pains, ameliorate their sufferings, and then making them once again feel that they are indeed citizens of Nigeria.”
Yusuf Dantalle, the National Chairman, APM, who also spoke at the town hall meeting, said, “It’s high time to change the narrative; the will of the people must be done. Nobody will fix Nigeria for us unless we rise up to fix the country by ourselves, and it’s only Seyi Makinde who can fix the country from the damage being done by the APC-led ruling administration.
