Hundreds of friends, family and community members attended a memorial service for the 25-year-old teacher who was killed in an elementary school shooting in Oregon.
Megan Lambert was among four killed by John J Griffin, a 16-year-old responsible for the shooting at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend, Oregon.
The service was held at Lambert's alma mater, Caldera High School in Bend, Oregon last Saturday.
In attendance were Lambert's former high school teachers, old coworkers and friends who flew in from as far as Canada and Australia, according to Oregon Public Broadcasting (OPB).
Attendees took turns sharing statements honoring and celebrating the woman's life and contributions to her community and beyond.
'Her no-nonsense yet loving approach reached kids academically and let them know they mattered personally,' said Somer Eckert, who spoke at the memorial service, according to OPB.
Andy Young, Lambert's recent colleague and former high school chemistry teacher, described Lambert as a 'spark of joy,' The Bend Bulletin reported.
'She was boisterous, gregarious, kind, a good soul, she was a leader and people were drawn to her,' Young said during the memorial, according to the outlet.
'She just wanted to experience all there was. She inspired me to want to live like she did, and it would be as bold and courageous and curious about the world as she did,' said Jacynda Carmichael during the memorial, The Bend Bulletin reported.

Lambert was also a coach at Central Oregon Volleyball Club (COVC), who have since started collecting funds to launch a scholarship in her name.
'We would rather be announcing Megan on our coaching staff as we prepare for the season, but this year Megan’s role is different,' COVC wrote on their GoFundMe page.
The post continued: 'In Megan’s first year coaching volleyball, Megan did not want to be paid. Megan wanted that money to go to athletes who could not afford to play.
That generosity and care for others is exactly why we are creating this fund: to keep Megan’s legacy alive and to give athletes the opportunity to play volleyball when cost might otherwise stand in the way.
The funds collected through the GoFundMe will be used to continue supporting athletes facing financial barriers to playing.
Lambert's family started the Megan Lambert Memorial Fund, which was established to honor the woman and support causes that reflect Lambert's values and passions.
'Her loss has been deeply felt across Bend and Central Oregon,' the description of the fund stated.
