Beau Lamarre-Condon talks about his 'fragrance' as he gives evidence: Accused double killer steps into witness box for a second day

Beau Lamarre-Condon is back in the witness box for day two of his murder trial.

The former police officer, whom the jury heard only likes to be referred to as Beau Lamarre, made the decision to enter the witness box after the prosecution closed its case on Thursday.

The prosecution case ran for seven weeks, calling dozens of witnesses.

Lamarre-Condon's decision to front the jury himself was only announced to the jury upon the Crown's closing around midday yesterday.

On Friday, Lamarre-Condon was again taken through his version of events by his barrister John Stratton, SC.

Next week, Crown prosecutor Brett Hatfield, SC will get his chance to cross examine the alleged double killer before Justice Natalie Adams.

Dressed in a grey suit, white shirt and black tie, Lamarre-Condon sipped water from a paper cup as he was questioned again about his relationship with Jesse Baird.

Lamarre-Condon told Mr Stratton the last time he ever saw Baird alive before his death was on November 18.

Mr Stratton asked Lamarre-Condon if his relationship had been 'exclusive' with Baird.

'The relationship was essentially we're doing things that I guess you could say couples were doing, going to dinners, hanging out a lot, spending a lot of time together, and it was an intimate relationship,' he said.

'But no, we were not exclusive. I was still seeing people at various points throughout my time with Jesse, but it was not exclusive.'
