“Chukwueze will return to Italy today, where he will begin his rehabilitation.”

The 27-year-old winger is expected to remain sidelined until the end of the year, ruling him out of Nigeria’s upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double-header against Tanzania’s Taifa Stars.

Chukwueze sustained the injury during preparations for AC Milan’s UEFA Europa League encounter against Bournemouth last month.

The former Villarreal winger had made an encouraging start to the season following his return from a loan spell at Fulham.

He has recorded two assists in eight appearances across all competitions for the Rossoneri this season.
