Kaletapwa Farauta, Adamawa State Deputy Governor, has emphasised the need to provide girls with quality education and a conducive learning environment to enhance their academic development.
Farauta made the call during the flag-off of the construction of a female hostel at Adamawa State Polytechnic, Yola, aimed at expanding accommodation facilities and improving students’ welfare.
She said that the provision of adequate accommodation and other essential facilities is critical to creating an enabling environment for female students to pursue their education without unnecessary challenges.
The deputy governor reaffirmed the State Government’s commitment to improving the standard of education, noting that the sector remained a priority in its development agenda.
She also cautioned the contractor against substandard work, urging him to maintain quality standards and ensure the timely completion of the project.
Earlier, Ibrahim Danjuma, the Rector of the Polytechnic, commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for the project, describing it as a significant contribution to the institution’s development.
Danjuma, however, appealed to the State Government to implement the previously approved 2.8-kilometre road network project within the institution.
He reaffirmed his commitment to working with the management and other stakeholders to reposition the Polytechnic for improved academic performance and institutional development.
