Arsenal moved up to third in the UEFA Champions League table after beating Slavia Prague 2-1 in the Czech Republic on Wednesday, extending their unbeaten away run in the competition to a club-record 10 matches.
Goals from Noni Madueke and Viktor Gyökeres gave the Gunners a two-goal advantage before half-time, but Wiktor Nowak’s late strike set up a tense finish as the hosts threatened to snatch a point.
According to a post-match report published on Arsenal’s website, Madueke opened the scoring after just nine minutes, finishing calmly after Gyökeres held up a high ball and released him behind the Slavia defence.

The England international raced into the penalty area, held off the challenge of Oskar Kubiak and slid the ball past goalkeeper Nazar Domchak.
Arsenal continued to dominate proceedings and eventually doubled their advantage in the 38th minute through Gyökeres.
A tackle by Mikel Merino won possession in Slavia’s final third before Declan Rice found the Swedish striker, who exchanged passes with Merino on the edge of the penalty area before curling the ball into the net from a tight angle.
The visitors had earlier come close to extending their lead through Merino, who saw a long-range effort tipped over before heading narrowly wide from close range. The midfielder also missed another opportunity after Ben White cut the ball back into his path.
Slavia returned with greater attacking intent after the interval and forced Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya into several interventions.
Kubiak tested Raya with a shot from 20 yards, while Gabriel was required to clear Mojmir Chytil’s header off the goal line following a corner. Raya subsequently clawed away the rebound.
The Arsenal goalkeeper also produced an excellent save with seven minutes remaining, stretching to keep out Kubiak’s effort after the Slavia player met a cross from the right.
However, the hosts eventually found a breakthrough in the 90th minute when David Jurasek’s low cross found Nowak, who fired past Raya to reduce the deficit.
The goal set up five minutes of stoppage time, during which Slavia continued searching for an equaliser, but Arsenal held on to secure all three points.
The victory took Arsenal to 10 points from four matches and third place in the Champions League table.
It also extended their unbeaten away run in the competition to 10 matches, the first time they have achieved the feat in their history.
The Gunners had not lost a European away fixture since May 2025, while the victory maintained their unbeaten record in nine previous visits to the Czech Republic.
Arsenal will next host Hull City at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday as they seek a fifth consecutive Premier League victory.
