Man United midfielder Youri Tielemans has voiced strong support for Red Deviil’s decision to retain manager Michael Carrick, insisting that the struggling English giants desperately need stability rather than further disruption.

Intense speculation surrounded Carrick’s position following last Sunday’s dismal 3-0 home defeat to Bournemouth. The result extended United’s winless run to eight matches and left the Red Devils languishing just a single point above the Premier League relegation zone.

The team’s lackluster performance at Old Trafford led many pundits to predict Carrick’s dismissal, despite the former England midfielder having signed a two-year contract only five months ago.

Nevertheless, the board has chosen to stand by Carrick for now, granting him the opportunity to mount a recovery starting with Saturday’s challenging trip to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Tielemans, who arrived at Old Trafford from Aston Villa during the pre-season, revealed that Carrick was a primary reason for his move to Manchester. Speaking to TNT Sports, the Belgian midfielder emphasized that the squad remains firmly behind the manager, stressing that a sudden coaching change would only destabilize the dressing room further.

“I came here partly because of him (Carrick) because he wanted me here, he wants me to help the team out,” Tielemans, who joined United from Aston Villa in pre-season told TNT Sports on Friday.

“I’m very happy for him to stay and the whole group, you know, we don’t want a sudden change. We don’t want a big change that is going to disrupt things more than they are.

“We just need stability. We need to keep working hard and then it’s going to turn at some point.”
